How to do manual update of AVG Free

To do manual update in AVG free follow these steps. If you don't know where the updated files of Avg free are hidden then visit Here and come back and follow these steps:-
Copy the update files from Computer which is up to date in following directory

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\avg8\update\backup

Copy and take it to other computer you want to do update in any directory
Now,
Open Avg user Interface > Click on Tools > Click on Update from directory
Select the path directory where you have kept your updated files.Click on OK.

Where are the updated files of AVG Free Stored

The Anti virus software like Nod 32 stores their updated files in their installed directory but Avg Free stored in other path. We need updated files to do manual update where the internet connection is not available.
So, AVG Free stores its updated files in the following path:-

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\avg8\update

Type Win+r type upper path.
You will see there three folders Back Up , Download & Prepare
Back Up  folder contain Back of all updated files from beginning. Download folder contains Last download files. Prepare folder contains the updated files prepare for update
So, Copy the files from Back Up Folder and take it to other computer and do manual update.
