Google to Let Android Apps Work the Cash Register


Android app developers will soon be able to offer users in-app purchases. This will enable devs to up their revenues by sell in-game virtual goods as well as offer so-called freemium apps -- directly selling the user an immediate upgrade after letting them try a "lite" version of the app first. Giving devs more ways to make money could draw additional interest to the Android platform.
