The scholarships are available for Ph.D. study in India to the following categories of students:

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

At the time of making the application for scholarship, a candidate should

• Hold a FIRST Class Post-graduate degree with a minimum 60% marks in aggregate in both graduate and post graduate level,
• Already be registered/admitted for Ph.D. degree with a recognized University/Institution in India. Those who have applied for registration and have not yet been registered at the time of submission of application, are not eligible to apply,
• Not be above 35 years of age,
• Be a full-time Ph.D. Scholar

DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP 

Upto 2 years.

VALUE OF SCHOLARSHIP FOR BOTH THE CATEGORIES 

• Maintenance allowance including Tuition fee - Rs.18,000 per month
• Contingent expenses for study tours within India, purchase of books, stationery, etc. – Rs.15,000 per annum

How to apply for a Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship

Applicants may send their particulars, under the following headings to Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, Teen Murti House, New Delhi 110 001.

1.Bio-data, along with details of original work.

2.Experience in the field of specialization.

3.Project proposed to be undertaken (A synopsis typed in double space in not more than a thousand words)

4.A copy of recent passport size photograph.

Those in Government service, either in a State or at the Centre, should send their applications through proper channel.

The Fellowship Scheme is a continuing one and there is no last date for receipt of applications.

Jawaharlal Nehru, Freedom Fighter and Independent India’s first Prime Minister, lived a many-splendoured life dedicated to the service of the nation. Not only was his role in the freedom struggle an outstanding one, as free India’s Prime Minister for 17 years he became the symbol of the hopes and aspirations of a resurgent India. The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund formally came into being when a National Committee consisting of 110 members was convened in New Delhi on 17 August 1964 under the Chairmanship of Dr S. Radhakrishnan, then President of India. 

In Dr S. Radhakrishnan’s words “The Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund is a symbol of our determination to keep burning the torch that he has left to us. Let us make it a symbol worthy both of our regard and affection for him and of all that he has so generously bequeathed to us.”

During these long years of its existence the Fund has undertaken a number of activities, all aimed at protecting and propagating the memory and message of the life of one of India’s greatest sons.

  • Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2016 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
  • The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the SC/ST & North Eastern State.
  • Candidates who have studied in Regular, Full Time and Formal Education are alone eligible to apply.

About GATE

The Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) jointly administer the conduct of GATE. The operations related to GATE in each of the 8 zones are managed by a zonal GATE Office at the IITs or IISc. The Organizing Institute (OI) is responsible for the end-to-end process and coordination amongst the administering Institutes. The Organizing Institute for GATE 2016 is Indian Institute of Science.

The registration process for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2016) opens on September 1 and will close on October 1, 2015.

* After completion of GATE 2016 examination, all answer keys will be made available for dispute within a short time. Every answer key can be challenged. A nominal fee will be levied to prevent frivolous challenges.

3.1 General Information on GATE 2016

1. Application Process: For GATE 2016, all information related to the candidates will be available in a single GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).  Candidates have to register and fill the application via ONLINE mode ONLY. The photograph and signature of the applicant must be uploaded during the online application. Please note that all necessary certificates, such as, degree certificate/certificate from the Principal and the category certificate, if any are also to be uploaded. Please note that no application form is available for sale anywhere.

2. Downloadable Admit Card: Admit cards will ONLY be downloadable from the GOAPS website tentatively from 17th December 2015. The candidate has to bring a printed copy of the admit card to the test centre along with at least one original and valid photo identification. The only permitted photo identifications are: Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, Aadhaar UID, College ID, Employee identification card, or a notarized affidavit which contains the candidate’s Photo, Signature, Date of Birth and Residential Address. The details of this ID proof have to be given while filling the online application.

3. Numerical Answer Type Questions: The question paper for GATE 2016 will consist of questions of both multiple-choice type and numerical answer type. For multiple choice type questions, candidates have to choose the answer from the given choices. For numerical answer type questions, candidates have to enter a number as the answer using a virtual keypad.

VITEEE 2015 Application procedure for online and offline submission

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING UP OF OMR APPLICATION FORM

1. Please make sure that you are using the correct application form.

2. Your application will be machine-processed. Use only black ball-point pen and CAPITAL letters to enter the required information. Use only pencil to shade the circle to correspond with the code / appropriate alphabet / numeral, which you have entered as your option.

3. Do not scribble, smudge, tear or wrinkle the application form. Do not put any stray marks anywhere on the application form.

4. Your photograph, signature and address will also be scanned by a machine that recognizes only good quality images. Therefore, paste a good quality, recent, passport size colour photograph and sign in the space provided with black ball-point pen only. Do not stick the attested photograph.

5. Write the complete address giving your name and PINCODE, carefully and legibly. Please note that this block will appear as such in all our correspondence with you. In case you happen to make a mistake, cover the whole box with a slip of white paper of the same size and write your address on it. Your address must not exceed the box.

6. The use of address of any coaching centre / Institution is strictly prohibited. If anybody uses the address of any coaching centre / Institution in his / her application form, it will be rejected.

7. Do not staple, pin, stitch or stick anything on the application form. Paste only the photograph in the space provided.

8. Ensure the correctness of your mailing address, PINCODE, valid e-mail id, Telephone number with correct STD CODE and provide mobile number. Please note that VIT will not be responsible if communications do not reach you due to incomplete or illegible address, invalid e-mail id and wrong mobile number.

9. You must quote your application number as reference in all your future correspondence.

10. The completed application form should be enclosed separately in the printed envelope provided, addressed to Director-UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore- 632014 and sent through Registered Post or Speed Post, so as to reach the Office of Admissions on or before 27th February 2015.

11. VIT will not accept responsibility for any postal delay/ irregularity or loss in postal transit.

12. Ensure that your application is complete in all respects. An incomplete application or an application filled in a language other than English will be summarily rejected.

Vellore Institute of Technology University, Vellore (Tamil Nadu), started issuing application forms to students who wants to appear for VITEEE 2015 from the first week of December, 2014. The online application form of Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) 2015 is available on the official website of the University and in case the students want to obtain the same via offline mode, they can do so from the Head Post offices across the state.

VITEEE 2015 is the qualifying entrance examination conducted for admission to the B.Tech courses offered by the VIT University.

VIT University also issues applications for NRI / Foreign National students offering them admissions to B.Tech course at VIT campus.

Candidates who are applying for the VITEEE 2015 need to check the eligibility criteria from the official website of the University. VIT University has issued both online and offline application form for the aspirants.

VITEEE 2015 online application form procedure:

Candidates need to register with their valid email id and mobile number for the process. After the registration, a window will direct the candidate  to fill the application form.

Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully before filling the application form and download the information brochure for further details.

Before filling the form, candidates needs to pay an application fee.

The payment of  the fee needs to be made online through DD of Rs 940/- drawn in favor of "VIT University", that shall be payable at Vellore. Candidates can also pay the fee through net banking / debit card / credit card.

The application fee for NRI candidates is of 50 USD online.

After the submission of the application form, an application number would be generated. Candidates must have to write the VITEEE 2015 application form number, Name, Address and Mobile number on the backside of the DD.

Aspirants have to write/note the VITEEE 2015 application number for future reference.

They must have to take two copies of the application form on A4 size paper.

Candidates must have to affix passport size coloured photograph and scanned copy of their signature.

A copy of the application form must reach the below office through registered speed post; The Director - UG Admissions, VIT University, Vellore - 632014, Tamil Nadu, India.

VITEEE 2015 offline application form:

Candidates can obtain an application form in person by submitting DD of Rs 990/- drawn in favor of "VIT University", should be payable at Vellore at VIT University office.

Candidates can also get the application form in Head post offices across the state.

Last Date Gate 2012 Exam

GATE 2012 Application- Last Date 17th October

This year GATE 2012 exam will be organized by Indian Institute of Delhi. GATE is conducted through 8 zones which are administered by prominent IITs and Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru.
GATE score is used by various institutes and organizations foradmission in Post Graduate courses as well as scholarships/ assistantships. However, there are several Public Sector Units who are using GATE score to call the candidates for the entry level positions of trainees.
